Course information
Programme structure
During classes at school, there is a strong focus on both theory and practice. You will also do an internship. And there is a lot of project-based work around themes. Our students regularly participate in various projects outside of school. For example, our students help decorate trade fairs and events and also give workshops.
Learning and mastering the basics of techniques, design, and customer service is the foundation of the program. You will then develop your skills in creating all kinds of flower arrangements and using different techniques and materials. You will engage in creative and entrepreneurial activities. You will learn everything about entrepreneurship and what it entails, but of course you will also spend a lot of time on design and learn to work with beautiful natural products. You will create the most beautiful creations for visitors to enjoy!
Assignments and projects are sometimes individual, but you will also often work in teams. Excursions are regular, and you will participate in projects outside of school.
Subjects in this programme include:
- Business Administration
- Business Economics
- Marketing
- Practical Training
- Project Management

After graduation
With a level 2 diploma (this programme lasts two years), you can enter the level 3 programme. You can also work as an employee/salesperson at a flower/lifestyle store or as a stylist at garden centers and/or a wholesaler.
After successfully completing level 3, you can enter the level 4 programme (both programs last three years). Another option is to start working as an assistant manager or assistant department head.
After obtaining your level 4 diploma, you can continue your studies at a university of applied sciences (hbo). For example, you can enroll in the Associate degree arts & crafts or Associate degree floral art programs. Or you can start working as a manager, team leader, or department manager. You can also start your own business (as a stylist/specialist) in the flower industry.
“I'm learning a lot here and I can fully express my creativity. What's also great is that you're treated like an adult. You have your own responsibilities, make your own choices, and manage your own schedule. Fortunately, you receive excellent guidance here; you're never on your own.” Mirella van der Meer, first year student Flower Styling & Events
