Water Management

How do you keep a polder dry? How do you prevent nature from drying out? How do we make sure our water stays clean and continue to use it responsibly? Our Water Management students are working on these and many other questions. If you choose Water Management, you will be searching for solutions. For now and for the future!

Keep our water clean and our feet dry!

You will be involved in all kinds of water-related issues, such as water systems, flora and fauna, water management, water sample analysis, soil research, land surveying, and working safely. You will regularly be outdoors conducting research and taking measurements, while also learning how to use software programs such as GIS and CAD.

Programme structure

Dry feet and clean water are important everywhere. Especially in the Netherlands, where much of the land’s surface was reclaimed from the sea by poldering and lies below sea level. So, whether you wish to work in the Netherlands or internationally, this programme helps you help the world!

Training costs

The costs of the programme depend on your age.

 

Costs for BOL students under the age of 18
Are you under the age of 18 at the start of the academic year (August 1)? In that case, you do not pay tuition fees.

 

Costs for BOL students over the age of 18
Are you 18 or older at the start of the academic year (August 1)? Please find information about tuition fees and possible finance here.

 

Other mandatory costs
In addition to tuition fees, there are costs for books and materials.

After graduation

You will be trained as a supervisor/foreman in green space (level 4, training code 25617) or as a skilled employee in nature, water, and recreation (level 3, training code 25620). After completing this programme, you will be able to work for various organizations, such as water boards, municipalities or provinces, technical or ecological consultancies, or contractors.

 

Most of our students continue their studies at a university of applied sciences (hbo). The programme ties in with university of applied sciences programs such as Water Management, Coastal and Marine Management, Forest and Nature Management, Civil Engineering, Landscape and Environment Management, and Spatial Development.
